We began 2026 with a new spring in our step thanks to a funding “bounce” from Lindley Moor based vehicle springs manufacturer and distributor Lesjӧfors Springs UK!

A long-term supporter of EPIKS, Lesjӧfors pledged £1500 towards our work caring for nature and promoting active travel in 2026. Before we go any further, dear reader, we know you’ll be wondering… you pronounce Lesjofors as ‘Leis-yu-fours. ‘Leis’ as in ‘leisure’, ‘yu’ as in ‘yup’ and ‘fours’ as in the number after ‘threes’.

Lesjӧfors has supported EPIKS with donations every year since 2023 and supplies volunteers for our work in Huddersfield Riverside Nature Park.

A wildlife friendly workplace

In 2023 EPIKS and Lesjӧfors created a third of a hectare of wildflower meadow at the company’s Lindley Moor logistics hub and planted native trees that will form a valuable woodland edge habitat.

The site is now home to perennial wildflowers like ox-eye daisy, knapweed, bird’s foot trefoil, wild carrot, poppies and trees and shrubs like alder, silver birch, field maple, crab apple, rowan, hawthorn, hazel, holly, dog rose and blackthorn. The company’s staff team get to enjoy the colours changing throughout the seasons and have seen an increase in the number of bees, butterflies, grasshoppers, invertebrates and birds in their locality.

Collaboration, transformation and support

Robert Glynn, Managing Director of Lesjӧfors Springs UK said,

“I first approached EPIKS for help in transforming the land surrounding the company’s premises from what was almost a building site into an increasingly valuable area for wildlife. Not only has our collaboration had a positive impact on the environment and locality but it has provided a fabulous team building experience for our staff. We have been really happy to support the work of EPIKS and are delighted to extend that support into 2026.”

EPIKS director Jeff Keenlyside said,

“It’s an absolute pleasure to come and visit Lesjofors and help them maintain the wildlife areas we have created together on their site. Their yearly contribution helps us be ambitious in both promoting biodiversity for nature and wellbeing for people in the Huddersfield Riverside Nature Park. Their contribution will also support our work reducing carbon emissions by promoting walking, wheeling and riding.

Year on year support and collaboration with companies like Lesjӧfors Springs UK is exactly what EPIKS is looking for as we develop our corporate environmental stewardship work. We’d love to add many more companies to our list of supporters and collaborators in 2026!”
