Volunteer with us

Who can volunteer?

Whether you are an individual, community group or business, we will work to tailor the right volunteering opportunity for you.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us on the link below and we will discuss the best volunteering activity for you.

Our volunteers help to improve community health and well-being and tackle the climate and ecological crisis.

We run weekly practical volunteer work parties and you are likely to experience a variety of tasks, meet with other people and go away with a real sense of achievement.

You will also be helping to create and maintain a network of natural green spaces and access routes along our wildlife-rich river valleys. A network which will form part of the 3 Valleys Nature Park – our vision for the future. View 3 Valleys Nature Park brochure here.

Ways to get involved

Volunteering opportunities

  • Join our weekly work parties to help spruce up riverside paths and create healthier habitats for nature. These two hour sessions keep paths open, gateways attractive and manage wildlife areas. We will provide tools and equipment – all you need to bring are old clothes and stout footwear. Further information here.
  • If you are a keen photographer or film maker, you could help to showcase some of the amazing greenspaces in your area or join us on one of our events to take pictures of our activities. Further information here.
  • If you are passionate about walking and cycling, are a wheelchair user, our Walk,Wheel,Ride project would welcome your support to talk to visitors on our roadshows, provide route information and advice on local groups.
  • EPIKS Directors are all volunteers. If you would like to be part of the team who help to turn ideas into action and help the environment in Kirklees.
