We’re working with BetterPoints West Yorkshire to help people make more of their everyday journeys, discover local activities and support environmental projects in Kirklees.
What if your everyday journeys could earn you rewards? Whether you walk to the shops, cycle to work, catch the bus or get out exploring your local area, BetterPoints can reward you for choosing more active and sustainable ways to travel. EPIKS is now a charity partner with BetterPoints West Yorkshire, a free app that rewards people for walking, wheeling, cycling and using public transport. It’s a great fit with our work to help more people enjoy walking, wheeling and cycling through our Walk Wheel Ride programme.

How can you benefit?
With BetterPoints, you can earn points for eligible journeys and activities, then choose how to use them. Depending on the rewards available, you can:
- Redeem your points for rewards, including vouchers and offers from participating businesses.
- Take part in local challenges and discover opportunities to get active in your area.
- Get involved in activities and events linked to BetterPoints, with opportunities to earn points where these are offered.
- Support EPIKS by donating your points to help fund our environmental and community work across Kirklees.
It’s a simple way to get something back for the journeys you already make, try something new and support your local environment.
Connecting BetterPoints with Walk Wheel Ride
Through Walk Wheel Ride, we organise activities and events that help people explore their local area and discover the benefits of walking, wheeling and cycling. We’re exploring ways to connect these opportunities with BetterPoints, so you can get involved in local activities and earn rewards along the way.
Keep an eye out for participating Walk Wheel Ride events and locations, where additional opportunities to earn points may be available.

Turn your points into local impact
As well as enjoying rewards yourself, you can choose to donate your BetterPoints to EPIKS. Your points can help support our work with communities, from looking after local green spaces and waterways to creating opportunities for people to connect with nature.
It’s another way to make a difference in Kirklees, one journey at a time.
